Ducks

click to view full sized imageThe fellow on the left was shy, the fellow on the right was quite the ham. I suppose when you’re a duck, and looking for a small piece of wood to pass time on, opposites attract.

A view from above

This shot was taken at the Yarmouth wharf.  This is an example of how I enjoy the way in which the camera frame focuses my attention, creating a microview of the world.  It makes me appreciate the sheer volume of visual noise we take in every day.

Rock formations

I was stricken by the way these Lichen grow on the volcanic rock at Cape Forchu.  As I have said elsewhere, I see language in shape and these Lichen are living geometry.

The Cape

click to view full sized imageCape Forchu is comprised almost entirely of volcanic rock.  The way these rocks interact with and are effected by their surroundings lends an otherworldly feel to the entire site.
